Just to get things started, one visual field!

It is already my second post, and I've already decided to take a break from posting my visual fields after this one. Is that a bad sign??

My fields are strange, yes. If it makes me feel any better, the last one I did with my new doctor (6/2010) was the best one yet. He told me that they were "pristine". I'll see if I can post that one after my break. He hasn't seen my past fields other than my optic nerve from '06.

So for my next few posts, I'm planning something different. More bloggy. I also plan to eventually get around to a semi-serious literature review on readily accessible glaucoma resources online that I've stumbled on. Until then, you'll be stuck looking at my peripheral vision!

I'm not going to write my story in one fell swoop (it isn't really that interesting, really) , but I think in piecemeal it will help me stay motivated in making content for this place for the mean time. Eventually, I'll get around to posting all of the medical-record goodness that I've got laying around, but seriously, who doesn't want to see visual fields and optic nerves? I barely even understand how to interpret them!

I don't quite foresee this being exclusively about high IOP or glaucoma, but I think there's a bit of a void in the internet concerning this. I kinda wanna fit in! It was initially frustrating that this (yes, I purposely edited to be such-- if you really want to visit it just replace the dot with . ) was on the front page for google search for +glaucoma and +blogs. Nothing like predatory site promoting junk machines.
